What’s up, fellow Paddle Boarders!
My name is Jonathan, and I’m the mastermind behind Paddle Board Athlete. My relationship with paddle boarding started in 2014. I was in college, life was pretty intense, and I didn’t have much in the sense of ‘inner peace.’ One particular sunny Texas day, I was on what was supposed to be a nice date. In the end, however, it was just me solely focused on my board and the water.
I’d never done this before in my life. I wasn’t a paddle boarder! I’d never even been on a SUP before this date. I wasn’t very good, which isn’t too surprising. I fell off and was wildly unstable, but oh boy, was I living the life. Sure, my first time out on the water was a disaster, but the feeling was anything but regrettable.
I just felt free. The stress of college life, being in debt, all the crap in my life… gone. I’m not claiming paddle boarding solved my problems, but I am saying that it gave me momentary peace. That, and it was a ton of fun.
I never imagined paddle boarding being as enjoyable as it was. As a result, I turned one great experience into a load of great experiences. I got my own SUP. I hit the water every week. I became a full-blown paddle boarder.
While I’m no expert, I am learning, and I want to spread the knowledge with others to encourage them to take up paddle boarding. So, if you’re looking for a means to achieve physical fitness, mental fitness, or just want to have some good fun on the water, paddle boarding might be what you’ve been searching for.
Every article I post on this site is made to spread the SUP love and get more people to take to the ocean. I hope everyone will take advantage of this beautiful world we live in and grab a SUP of their own. If you have any questions just send a message or message us on facebook.
